You can now find the TrueMedia.org team’s contributions on the TrueMedia.org GitHub.

I spent a large chunk of 2024 working with TrueMedia.org on real-world deepfake detection. A lot of this time was spent working with open source models, testing new methods, analyzing media circulating on the internet, and writing up our findings with the machine learning research team. Many others at TrueMedia.org dedicated much more of their 2024s to the incredibly cool, key components contributing to the team’s mission. The work felt impactful. It was gratifying. And we were pushing the boundaries of what deepfake detection is capable of in the wild. To be able to share this with the open source community feels like the perfect end to the organization, and I’m excited to see how this field progresses.

For an in depth look at what exactly the open source repos contain and how to get the most out of them, I highly recommend this fantastic blog post written by the TrueMedia.org ML lead!
