Hello!

Photo of Hannah

I’m a first year computer science PhD student at the University of Maryland, College Park. My research interests are broadly in improving AI safety and mitigating privacy and misinformation harms to people engaging with machine learning systems.

Previously, I researched deepfake detection methods at TrueMedia.org and worked on computer vision techniques for mobile health applications with the UbiComp Lab at the University of Washington, where I graduated with my masters degree in computer science and my bachelors degree in computer science and applied mathematics. I am returning to academia after two years as a software engineer at Microsoft.

Other long term interests of mine include running, hiking, reading, and creating art (often of places I’ve run in or hiked around!).
